Big Idea
Your surrender isn’t just for growth—it’s preparation for movement.
God didn’t save you only to keep you safe.
He saved you to send you forward.
Introduction
Good morning.
God has reminded us clearly:
- We are saved by grace.
- Surrender is not weakness—it is spiritual power.
- We are called to bear fruit as evidence of remaining in Christ.
But now comes the question: What’s next?
Because sometimes, the fruit of surrender isn’t comfort—it’s calling.
Tell the person beside you:
“Are you ready to walk into your calling?”
Point 1: Surrender Is Preparation
Surrender Positions You for the Promise
Deuteronomy 8:2–3 (NIV)
“Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness… to humble and test you…”
Key Truths
- The wilderness is not always punishment.
- Sometimes, the wilderness is preparation.
- God uses seasons of humbling, pruning, and testing to prepare us for greater responsibility.
- God doesn’t just want to bless you—He wants to prepare you to carry the blessing.
- You don’t have to be perfect to be used. You only need to be positioned.
Truth:
Surrender does not end your journey—it begins your growth.
Illustration
Before planting happens, the ground must be broken.
Before harvest comes, the soil must be humbled.
Reflection
- Is there an area of my life God is processing right now?
- Am I resisting it—or surrendering to it?
- What part of my heart is God breaking and rebuilding?
Point 2: Obedience Leads to Fruitfulness
Fruitfulness Follows Obedience
Joshua 1:2–3 (NIV)
“Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River…”
Key Truths
- God said now.
- There comes a moment when preparation must become obedience.
- Preparation is important—but preparation without action becomes delay.
- If you refuse to move, you will never enter the promise.
Truth:
God cannot bless the place you refuse to step into.
Illustration
A farmer can prepare the land perfectly—but if he never plants a seed, there will be no harvest.
Faith without steps produces no fruit.
Reflection
- Where is God calling me to step forward today?
- What instruction am I delaying?
- Is fear holding me back?
- Am I hiding behind “I’m not ready yet”?
Point 3: You Are Sent to Bear Fruit That Remains
Your Calling Has Eternal Impact
John 15:16 (NIV)
“I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last…”
Key Truths
- Everything God prepared you for isn’t just for you—it’s for His mission.
- Salvation is not only about your freedom; it’s about others finding freedom through Christ.
- You were not blessed just to survive.
- You were blessed to become a channel of purpose and provision.
Truth:
You were not only saved—you were also sent.
Illustration
An apple tree does not eat its own fruit. The fruit is for others.
In the same way, your obedience will bless your family, your church, and the next generation.
Reflection
- Who can I disciple?
- Who can I mentor?
- Who is waiting on my obedience?
Conclusion: The Bridge Between Surrender and Breakthrough
God’s message today is simple:
“You already surrendered. Now walk forward.”
You’ve already been planted. Now prepare to bear fruit.
Stop going back to your old life.
This is the season to cross over.
You don’t need a new promise.
You need a new walk.
Declare today:
“I am ready. I will walk into God’s promise.”
God is not calling you into comfort—
He is calling you into purpose.
Response & Altar Call
- Thank God for the pruning and preparation.
- Commit to obedience, even without full details.
- Prepare your heart for the upcoming series: Breaking the Spirit of Poverty.
Closing Prayer
Lord, thank You for the pruning, the preparation, and even the wilderness seasons.
Thank You for teaching me surrender.
But I refuse to stay in survival mode.
Help me walk in obedience even when I don’t see the full picture.
Position me not only for blessing—but to become a blessing.
Prepare me for calling, provision, and breakthrough.
Use my life to bear fruit that remains.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
